Vaaloewer Community Watch (VCW) is a volunteer association run by dedicated and motivated residents who believe that a strong cohesive community can minimise crime effectively.
“To deliver to the members of VCW and residents of Vaaloewer, within the next five years, a secure Village with a totally secure perimeter with immediate access to capable and efficient support in an emergency”
A detailed plan was presented to residents in August 2013 – available on request VCW has partnered with Bataleur Security Services in order to deliver the above strategy.
Secure the membership to VCW of the majority of Vaaloewer residents at the following fee structure:
R100 per month for residents and property owners
R200 per month for businesses operating within Vaaloewer
R400 per month for businesses offering accommodation and entertainment within Vaaloewer
Costs were determined in consultation with Bataleur, where VCW would be charged R30,000 ex VAT per month and any excess funds would be utilized by the VCW committee to improve security options in Vaaloewer.

Convert current alarm owners to a new fee structure for their Armed-
In addition to the services offered above, alarm owners would have:

The fee structure for alarm owners would be:
R350 + R100 per month for residents and property owners
R350 + R200 per month for businesses operating within Vaaloewer
R400 + R200 per month for businesses offering accommodation and entertainment within Vaaloewer
The VCW committee would be tasked with utilizing the funds generated from this initiative to look at assessing additional security options for Vaaloewer going forward, with some form of access control at the Vaaloewer entrance being considered a priority.
